Can The ICB Send Me Learning Material?

No, ICB cannot send you any learning material. It only offers paper-based and online assessments to students that will help them achieve their ICB qualification. 

Where Can I Get ICB Learning Material?

There are two trusted places where you can get study material:

  1. Your ICB training provider – You can get study material from your training provider or college. They will give you all the necessary textbooks, study guides and notes.
  2. Edge Education – Get various textbooks from Edge Education. They have a wide range of coursework for multiple subjects, such as Bookkeeping to Trial Balance. 

Where To Buy ICB Textbooks?

You can buy ICB textbooks from Edge Education. You can choose printed books or digital resources, such as eBooks. To find out the price of the study material you need, browse through the Edge Education catalogue

Edge Learning Media ICB Textbooks

Edge Education is previously known as Edge Learning Media. ICB students must use their student number as a reference number to receive learning material. 

ICB Self-study Textbook

Students who self-study ICB courses must find their own learning material or buy their books from Edge Education. ICB will not be able to supply any study material to independent learners.

  • Knowledge base – The knowledge base has many blog articles, infographics and videos to help study ICB courses. This includes exam details and how to register as a student. 
  • Timetable – Find out when and what you will write using the ICB timetable. This will help you stay updated on important deadlines and exam dates.

What Are The ICB Courses?

Our ICB Courses are study programmes with a strong focus on business and finance. There are three ICB courses you can study with us:

Accounting Courses

If you have always wanted to become an accountant or bookkeeper, our Accounting Courses will help you reach that goal. It teaches in-demand finance skills that recruiters want from their candidates. Stand out in the workplace and make your mark in the corporate world. 

Entry requirements: Grade 10.

Business Management Courses

Our Business Management Courses allow you to achieve a management qualification in just three years. Your knowledge will be versatile and can be applied to various careers, such as a project manager and industries like beauty. Learn skills that will allow you to start your own small business or run a franchise. 

Entry requirements: Grade 11.

Office Administration Courses

Our Office Administration Courses is a great study programme for all personal assistants and office administrators. It teaches you a wide range of skills you can apply to your daily tasks. Add it to your CV, and you will soon land your dream interview. 

Entry requirement: Matric or equivalent

What Are The Pass Requirements For ICB?

To pass your ICB course, you must get at least:

  • 50% in your finals
  • 60% as an overall mark

How Are ICB Marks Calculated?

The digital portfolio of evidence (PoE) makes up 30% of your ICB marks. Your finals count for 70% of your overall result. 

What Happens If You Fail An ICB Exam?

You can choose to either rewrite or re-mark your exam. 

Rewrite

This is your second chance to pass your exam. You can register to rewrite the exam as soon as you get your results. You must also pay the exam fees to redo your exam. 

Re-mark

With a re-mark, an examiner will re-mark your exam. They will also issue a full report of your results. You need to apply within a month of receiving your results and pay the fee of R1200.

The result the examiner gives you after the re-mark is final. 

What Are The Pass Requirements For PoE?

There are no pass requirements for your digital PoE. You must ensure that it is 100% done by the completion deadline to qualify for the ICB exam. 

What Should I Study After ICB?

You have various further study opportunities that will help you advance your studies:

Complete Your ICB Course

Each ICB course has between three to four levels. So if you complete the first level successfully, you can progress to the next. Complete all levels, and you can complete your diploma

Get An Advanced Diploma

Study further with professional bodies, such as:

When you complete your NQF L6 Financial Accounting National Diploma, you qualify for up to six exemptions. You can study further with them and achieve your advanced diploma. 

Does Unisa Recognise ICB Qualification?

You might be able to study further with Unisa through RPL. You can use your work experience or qualification to study further with Unisa with your credits.

Yes, all ICB courses are accredited by Quality Council For Trades & Occupations (QCTO) and ICB. This proves you have the formal training to get an in-demand job in South Africa.
