What is an ICB Portfolio of Evidence (PoE)?
An ICB Portfolio of Evidence is a workbook or collection of files. This workbook is filled with assignments and tasks that you complete before your exams. On the day of said exams you will then hand in your completed portfolio. This serves as evidence that you did the work and have an understanding of it.
Why is my POE Important?
We get it, studying further is hard enough without having any extra tasks to complete. But doing your PoE will be very helpful in the end. Here’s are some of the benefits that come with doing your PoE:
Helps With Exam Prep
When it comes to preparing for your exam, you need all the help you can get. Completing the tasks and assignments in your PoE will get you exam ready. Go through the work, make notes on what you don’t understand and ace those exams!
Ensures you Understand Your Work
The assignments in your workbook are aimed at ensuring that you are engaging with the work. This will make sure that you understand the study material given to you.
Counts Towards Your Final Mark
Your PoE counts towards 30% of your final mark. The marks you get from your PoE could really be the difference between you passing or failing your course.
When do I get my PoE?
First you must enrol into our ICB Courses and then register for your exams. Once you have registered for the exams, your PoE will be sent to you 3-4 weeks after your registration. You then have until the exam to complete it.

What do I do With my PoE?
You must complete your PoE before your exam takes place. On the day of the exam you take it along and then submit it. The process of completing your PoE can seem daunting, but if you do a bit of work everyday you will manage to finish it right on time. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Completing Your ICB Portfolio of Evidence
There is no reason to feel stressed about completing the ICB Portfolio of Evidence. Apply these tips and you’ll be just fine.
Managing your time well will be essential if you want to make a success of your studies. Set up a study timetable and stick to it. Don’t try and cram your work in the night before your exam. Try and complete at least one task each day.
Set clear goals and stick to them. Write out a list of things you would like to complete weekly and stay focused on them. Having a schedule will make sure that your work is done and keep you up to date.

Do I get a PoE for Each Subject?
You will get a PoE for every exam you write with the ICB. Each Portfolio of Evidence is different. They will have tasks and assignments suited for the specific subject. Remember, you will be marked for your work so make sure that every PoE you do is of a high standard.
The Contents of Your PoE
What exactly will be in your ICB Portfolio of Evidence? It will be made up of three parts. Everything in your PoE is there to assist with your learning, so pay careful attention to all sections. They are:
ICB Portfolio Administrative
The ICB portfolio administrative is very important as it guides you through your ICB subject. It will tell you what you need to do through your studies, and explains how to fill in your PoE. It contains many forms that you need to complete. Work through this portfolio step by step and do all the instructions listed.
ICB Tests and Projects
The ICB tests and assignments count 30% towards your final mark, so make sure that you take care when doing these. You will find 3 assignments, and 2 tests that will make sure you understand everything in the subject that you need for the final exam.
You will also find blank answer books which is where you write the answers to your tests and assignments.
How are my Final Marks Calculated?
As we have mentioned, the ICB uses your official exam and Portfolio of Evidence to calculate your final mark.Your formal exam counts 70% of your final mark. You need to get at least 50% for your formal exam, to pass your course. Your Portfolio of Evidence counts 30% or your final mark. You have to get a final overall mark of 60% to pass your course.
Submitting Your PoE
A few days before your final exam make sure you double check the checklist in your ICB Portfolio Administration Guide. Make sure you have completed everything.
Take your completed PoE to your final exam as you will submit it there along with your exam question and answer papers. You can’t send the ICB anything related to your PoE once you have handed it in. So make sure everything is up to standard before submitting.
