Which Venue Should I Choose?
To write the paper exam, you must choose a venue closest to you. If there are no ICB exam venues in your area, you can choose to write the ICB online exam. This allows you to write at a location of your choice.
Did you know: You can apply for private invigilation? This is available to students who live more than 200km from an exam centre. You must meet the terms and conditions, such as getting approval for a private invigilator and paying the 2025 application fee of R2200.

ICB Timetable 2025

If you want to write your ICB exam later, you can apply for a postponement. You must apply to write at the next available exam date and pay the postponement fee.
Did you know: You can apply for a mitigating postponement? This means you do not need to pay a fee if you have a valid reason for postponing.
How Long Is The ICB Exam?
Each exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes in length. This includes both paper and online exams. Paper exams start at 09:00 until 12:30. You can take your online exam anywhere between 09:00 and 13:00. However, all online exam sessions close at 16:30.

How Do ICB Online Exams Work?
You can write ICB online exams at a location of your choosing. You must complete the technical checks in your PoE and meet the technical requirements to write the exam.
What Are The Technical Systems Check?
The technical systems checks if your device meets the online exam requirements. It helps invigilate students and ensure that the online exam rules are met. The check reviews if:
- Your camera/webcam and microphone are working.
- You can record an image while you complete the check.
- There is an internet connection when you complete your check.
- You can stream a recording.
Please note. Complete the check as many times as you want, but you must do it before and on the day of your exam.

- 50% in your ICB exam
- 60% as an overall mark
What Happens If You Fail An ICB Exam?
You can rewrite the subject. Write the exam on the next available date and pay the fee. There is also the option to re-mark your exam. Pay the re-mark fee, and an examiner will check your work and issue a full report.
