How To Qualify For Mitigating Postponement?
You need to meet the following requirements to qualify for a mitigating postponement:
- The Situation Is Beyond Your Control – You qualify for a mitigating postponement if the situation or circumstances are beyond your control. If it is foreseeable or can be prevented, you will not qualify.
- It Will Affect Your Exam – If the reason you are postponing will directly affect your exam. This includes illnesses. You should be able to provide proof to support your application.
- Circumstance Happens On The Day Or Leading Up To The Exam – If the circumstance occurs on the day or leading up to the exam, you can qualify for a postponement. But you must provide evidence to prove it is timely and relevant.

What Is The Pass Mark For ICB Exam?
To pass your ICB exams, you need to meet the following requirements. You need to get at least:
- 60% as an overall course mark
- 50% in your final exam
Please note: There are no minimum requirements for your digital portfolio of evidence (PoE). But you must ensure that you pass your assignments and tests to fully prepare for the exams.
What Happens If I Fail An ICB Exam?
If you fail your finals, you have the option to apply for a rewrite or re-mark. This applies to students who wrote both the paper and online exams.
ICB Exam Rewrite
You can rewrite the exam you failed. You need to reregister for the exam. This includes paying the exam fee. Make sure to apply as soon as possible.
Remember: If the date of the rewrite is in the same calendar year, you do not have to complete a new digital portfolio of evidence (PoE).
ICB Exam Re-mark
If you think your exam results have been miscalculated you can request a remark. You need to make sure you apply for a re-mark within one month after getting your results. You also need to pay the re-mark application fee of R1200.
Keep in mind: After getting a full report from the examiner on your marks, those will be your final results. You cannot appeal the matter further.
