What is Work Experience?
Work experience is any practical skills and knowledge you gain through formal training or at a place of employment. It can be relevant to your field and career or be made up of transferable skills you can apply to a range of industries.
Kickstart Your ICB Course With Work Experience
Now you can use the relevant skills you’ve gained while working! The ICB recognises the practical training you’ve gained through recognition of prior learning (RPL). This ICB exemption allows you to kickstart your ICB course with your work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
To qualify for an exemption, you need to have relevant work experience. Since our ICB Courses teach you business and finance-related skills, your work experience needs to be closely related to these. This includes having worked jobs such as an accountant, bookkeeper or financial manager.
Register as a new ICB Student
Before you can get started in your course, you need to register as a new ICB student. You will need to create a student profile and choose an ICB training provider. Once you are a student, you can apply for an exemption.
Work Exemption PoE
As part of your application, you will need to complete a work experience portfolio of evidence (PoE). The ICB exemptions board will then evaluate your PoE. This will help them decide if your experience qualifies you for an exemption.
