What Are The ICB Registration Fees?
The ICB registration fees change every year. In 2023, it costs R430. You have to pay a registration fee every year you are studying with ICB. This fee covers all the admin costs involved with your course.

How Do I Pay ICB?
If you are a classroom-based student, you will pay through your college. Distance learners have to make direct payments to ICB. Do not worry, it is a simple process. You have three payment options:
- Credit card/debit card
- Instant EFT
- EFT/Bank Payments
All these payments can be made via the ICB student portal. This platform is safe and secure. ICB’s banking details are available on your invoice.
Please note: ICB does not accept debit orders or cash payments. If cash is your only option, make a deposit at your nearest FNB and send your proof of payment to ICB.

How Can I Register For ICB Exams?
Here is how to book your ICB exam:
- Open the student portal.
- Click ‘enter assessment’ on the left side of your screen.
- Choose your subject.
- Pick your exam venue.
- Choose an exam date.
- Click ‘add to basket’.
- Double-check your basket and then click ‘checkout’.
- Submit the exam booking.
- Pay the exam fee.
- Make sure you receive an exam confirmation via email.
Please note: You can only book for an exam if you have paid your annual registration fee.
Where Do I Write ICB Exams?
If you want to write the paper-based exams, you should know that there are important changes to the venues in 2023. There are fewer in-person exam venues. You can only write at:
- Akasia Country Club
- Benoni Central Methodist Church
- Damelin – East London
- Glenwood Presbyterian Church
- Goodwood Sports Club
- IBTC Sandton
You can write the ICB online exam from home, with your training provider, at the office or wherever there is a computer that meets the requirements. But make sure you take note of the rules.
How Do I Register At The ICB Student Portal?
Start your study journey by following a few simple steps:
- Make sure you use a PC and not a cellphone.
- Use Google Chrome.
- On the portal, click ‘register’.
- Fill in all the forms provided.
- After each form, click ‘next step’ until you are done.
- Select ‘submit’ to complete your registration.
- You will then receive a confirmation email.
How Do ICB Online Exams Work?
You can write online exams every month. They will be invigilated digitally. Unlike in previous years, every subject now has an online exam date. Before you write the online exam, you must ensure your computer meets the technical requirements.
How Must I Contact ICB During The Online Exam?
No need to panic, ICB has a full team on standby to help you on exam day. There will be a chatbox on MACCI you can use to ask for help. You will only see the chatbox once your exam starts. If you have issues during the exam checks, open a separate tab for MACCI, and you will see the chatbox there.
Are ICB Exams Open Book?
No, ICB exams are not open book.
Is The Format of The ICB Online Exam The Same As The Paper-Based Exam?
Yes, the format of the ICB paper and online exams are the same. The only difference is that one is digital and the other is on paper. The structure of the exams includes:

- Multiple choice
- Long questions
- Fill in the gap
When Will I Receive My ICB Results?

What Is The ICB Pass Mark?
You must achieve a mark of at least 50% for your exam. To pass your course, you must have a combined mark of at least 60%. This mark is made up of your Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) and your final exam.
What Is The ICB Pass Rate?
ICB has a very high pass rate. Over 25 000 students have graduated with an ICB qualification in the last five years.
What Happens If You Fail An ICB Exam?
