What you can do to Improve Your Matric Results 2022

You know what you are capable of. So if you did not meet your expectations, you can always give yourself a second chance. There’s plenty of time to achieve your goals. And your goals don’t start or end with the weight of your matric results. Here’s what you can do if you’re not satisfied with your Matric Results 2022.

Get a Recheck

Matric exam markers go through extensive training to ensure that quality is assured when marking matric papers. Having said that, matric exam markers are only human and not free from flaws. You can apply for a recheck. Exam markers will then relook at your paper and recount your exam marks.

Apply for a Remark

Confident in the amount of work you’ve put in? You can always apply for an exam remark. A remark means that an exam marker will have another look at your question paper. You can apply for a remark per question paper. To get a remark, you will need to apply for one within days after the matric results have been released.

Rewrite the Subject

Need more time? You can apply for a rewrite at your school or your exam centre. Students usually have 21 days after they receive their matric results to apply for a rewrite. You can choose to rewrite as many subjects as you like.

Study Without Matric

Skip remarking or rewriting matric entirely and jump straight into tertiary education. You can choose between studying accredited courses or skill-based courses. Matric is not always needed when it comes to achieving your dreams.

Not ready to head back to the exam room or don’t have enough money at the moment to pursue these options? There is no rush. You may proceed to get a job that allows you to work without matric. But we will be honest, your options will be limited. Then once you are financially stable, you can apply for a matric upgrade or finish your adult matric

What Do my Matric 2022 Results Mean?

Your matric symbol serves as a guideline for your next move. If you’re not sure about what the future holds for you, you can make decisions based on your matric pass symbol. There are three in total.

Certificate Pass : A certificate pass allows you to study towards a Higher Certificate. To get this symbol, you need a 40% pass in your home language, two subjects above 40%, four subjects above 30%.

Diploma Pass : Students who achieve this symbol can study towards a Diploma or a bridging course. Students with this symbol received 40% in four higher credit subjects and 30% in three lower credit subjects.

Bachelor’s Pass : A bachelor’s pass means you can gain entry at university and study towards a bachelor’s degree. To gain this symbol you need at least 50% in four subjects, 40% for home language, and 30% in the language of teaching.
