What is an NQF Level 3?
NQF stands for National Qualifications Framework. In South Africa, this is the framework used to organise different stages of learning. There are ten levels, ranging from level one being grade 9 up to level ten being a completed doctoral degree (PhD). So an NQF Level 3 is what you’ll have after successfully completing Grade 11.
What can I Study With an NQF Level 3?
Now that you’ve established where you fall on the NQF levels list, let’s move on to what your alternatives are for further education. A matric certificate is important, but it’s not the be-all and end-all. You can still study with an NQF Level 3. Let’s explore your options below:
Matric Equivalent
If you didn’t have the chance to get your matric, you can opt for a matric equivalent course. It is not the same as a matric certificate, but will allow you to progress from NQF level 3 to NQF level 4. This is a skills-based qualification and prepares you to work in a specific field. It’s a great option for those who want to jump right into the workforce.
Provider Programmes
Even though we are an accredited college, we offer a wide selection of non-accredited courses too. These are known as provider programmes and don’t require matric. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to study further, no matter their level of education. So all you need to enrol in a provider programme is the ability to understand English.
Please note: Provider courses don’t result in formal qualifications. But you do get a certificate that looks great on your CV when applying for entry level jobs.
Skills Academy is the word support in every way.
