ICB Exam Disqualifications

If you do not complete your ICB portfolio of evidence (PoE) before the due date, the ICB will disqualify you from writing the exam. The ICB PoE completion deadline is roughly one week before the assessment. As part of this disqualification, you:

  • Will forfeit your exam booking
  • Need to re-book for the next available exam
  • Should pay the exam fees for your new booking
  • Will have ‘Exam Conditions Not Met’ on your exam entry
  • Can only access Section’s B and C in your PoE once you have made a new exam booking

Issues That Lead to Disqualifications

Not completing your PoE will disqualify you from writing the exam. But that’s not all. You can face ICB exam disqualifications if you do not adhere to all rules. Common issues that can lead to disqualifications include: 

Incorrect Exam Written

Wrote your exam on the wrong date? Or did you write the wrong subject? Well if you did, you could be disqualified since the exam conditions were not met. So you need to make sure you pay close attention to the exam dates and the subject you’ll write about.

Plagiarism

When using the work of others, you need to give them credit through citations and referencing. If you do not, it counts as plagiarism. When assessors pick this up during the marking process, you will be disqualified and could face disciplinary action.

Cheating

Think you can get away with cheating? Well not at all. With the exam invigilation, students are monitored to make sure they stick to the exam rules. But if you’re caught, you will be disqualified and will face disciplinary action. This applies to both paper-based and online exams.

Exam Irregularities

Along with these issues, there are exam irregularities that can lead to disqualification. This includes disciplinary action. So you need to make sure you are up-to-date on all the conduct, course and exam rules. Assessment irregularities that can lead to being disqualified include:

  • No ID at the exam
  • Not recorded on the attendance register at the venue
  • Late arrival at the exam
  • Having an unauthorised device during the assessment
