When Will my Exam be Taking Place?
Your Technical Mathematics exams are scheduled for the following dates. Plan your studies accordingly:
Paper 1: 12th October
Paper 2: 16th October
As you can see, these papers only have a few days between them. You will have to manage your time well, so have a look at your Matric 2020 Exam Timetable to have access to all your exam dates.
How Long Will the Exam be?
Both exams are 3 hours long. We know this may seem like a lifetime, but if you come prepared, this time will go by so quickly. The exam is set for 9am sharp, but get there ahead of time. You’ll have the chance to go through notes and calm down before the big test.
Past Papers and Memos
Technical mathematics is still a new subject. It was only introduced in the curriculum in 2016. So, you need to make sure you prepare well at home to handle any curveballs. The best way to do this is using past papers to prepare.
What Will be Covered in the Exam?
Each exam has its own focus areas. Make sure you know what you need to study for each paper.
- Functions & Graphs
- Finance, growth and decay
- Differential Calculus and Integration
- Analytical Geometry
- Euclidean Geometry
- Mensuration, circles, angles and angular movement
Work through each of these concepts and make sure you understand them. You can also reach out to your friends and study together. But, remember to do so safely and in small groups.
Tips to Pass
Know the Techniques, Formulas and Methods: Write down all important formulas and make sure you know them well.
Practise, Practise, Practise: When it comes to mathematics, there’s no such thing as too much practise. Work through examples, old tests and homework.
