What you need to know

Entrance Requirements

Don’t have matric? Not to worry. With the General Management: Short Course, there are no requirements. Skills Academy strives to create equal opportunities for all students. That means you can apply for this course even if you never finished school. You only need to understand English, as your coursework is written in the language.

Accreditation

This is a non-accredited course, but the skills and knowledge you will gain is valuable. This course was designed to help students enter the workplace. Once completed, you will receive a certificate issued by Skills Academy.

Assessment Structure

No exams are scheduled for this course. You will only need to complete assignments or a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) as well as a subject test. For each assignment you need 50% to pass. Students who fail to get more than 50% may apply to redo their assignments - no extra costs.

Subject Description
Introduction to Business English Become more confident in your English language ability. Business English is not the same as everyday English. This subject teaches you how to speak in a professional manner. You will learn how to write emails, business letters, and how to communicate with your colleagues.
Cross-Cultural Business Communication Workplaces are diverse and beautiful. Learn more about the differences in communication across cultures, how to overcome barriers, as well as how to handle cross-cultural business situations. You will also learn more about workplace culture.
Business Ethics Make sure you run your business ethically. This subject helps you understand ethics and helps you make ethical business decisions. You will also be able to identify unethical business practices.

Your friendly tutors and lecturers are available on the phone, in the Together We Pass free online study groups, on email and even on WhatsApp.

Limitless access during office hours.

High contact, supported learning is key your success, so all students are encouraged to use the study groups as much as possible.

What is not included in the fees?

We do not include writing materials or envelopes for you to send your assignments to us.

However, you can upload your assignments here through our Learner Portal, and cut out the price of envelopes out as well!
