Effective Exam Tips
With your finals well underway, you need effective study tips to ensure that you get the most out of your study sessions.
Arrive Early
On the day of your exams, you’ll be going through a lot of emotions. It’s best to arrive early to your exam centre. This gives you time to breath, relax and gather your thoughts. It also allows you to get settled in and maybe even fit in some last minute reading.
Understand Instructions
All matric exams come with instructions that you have to follow. Before you start writing, your invigilator will read these instructions out to you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you understand each of them. If not, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification.
Review Questions
Before you start writing you’ll be given some time to review your questions. Don’t throw this time away, use it wisely. This will give you the opportunity to formulate your answers.
Give an Answer for Each Question
With all the adrenaline running through your system you might blank out at a question. But don’t leave it blank. Even if you don’t know the full answer, write down what you do know. You could still get a mark for it.
Stay Until the end
Being given three hours to write an exam, might seem like too much time. Going through your paper once isn’t always enough. Make sure to double or even triple check the questions and your answers.
Skills Academy is the word support in every way.
