Upward and Downward Matric Marks Explained

Understanding mark adjustments can sound complicated and confusing at first. But to simply put it, the Umalusi assessment standards committee, assesses the results of each subject on a five year basis. Once compiled, an average is worked out and they then decided if 10% should be added to your marks or deducted.

  • Upward adjustment can’t be more than 10%
  • Downward adjustment can’t be more than 10%
