Basic Personal Requirements 

Apart from meeting the course entry requirements, there are other personal requirements you will need to meet. Luckily, these are basic requirements and if you don’t have them a plan can always be made. 

Computer/Desktop

You will need access to a computer or a laptop. All your assignments and activities will be done on it. You will need to know how to use a keyboard, mouse and how to create and save documents and folders. 

The Internet 

Internet access is a must. Most of your work and study groups are online so you will need a reliable internet connection. If you don’t have one, you can use internet cafes or the library for internet access.

Email

Before committing yourself to distance learning, brush up on your email knowledge. You will need to know how to send and organise emails. This will be your main form of communication with your lectures.

The software you have on your computer is similar to the applications you have on your phone. So, there’s no reason to be intimidated by it. You should ensure that your computer is suited with the following software:

  • Microsoft Office

Hardware Needed for Distance Learning 

To put it simply, hardware is something you can touch. It includes your computer,laptop or tablet. This will also include any equipment you use to listen to audios such as speakers or headphones.
