Types of Study Methods 

Reading your entire textbook a day before your exam isn’t studying. Effective studying means that you are reading to understand the material and you are actively memorising it. Avoid cramming at all costs. 

Colour Coded Notes 
Colour coding your notes can improve your memory of it and your understanding. You can use certain colours to represent certain things. For example, red could be for key points and blue could be for important information. 

The PQ4R Method
Now you might be wondering what is The PQ4R Method? Don’t worry, it’s not some secret code you’ll struggle with. It’s actually quite simple. PQ4R is an abbreviation for Preview, Question, Read, Recite and Review. These are the five things you should follow while studying. 

Mind Mapping
Visualising your thoughts can be a great way to learn if you are a visual learner. You can organise your information by means of a diagram, table or a simple chart. Whatever works for you is what you should use.  

Exercise Before Studying
You don’t have to start training like an olympic athlete, but getting in some exercise before you study can be a great boost. It clears your mind, and kick-starts your brain function. Which improves your memory and cognitive performance.
