What you need to know

Entrance Requirements

Skills Academy strives to make education accessible to all - no matter their schooling history. Which is why you don’t need a school qualification to study this course. All that’s required from you is that you have a basic understanding of the English Language. Your study material and only need to understand the language which the course is conducted in. And that is English.

Accreditation

This is a non-accredited course. These courses are designed for those without a schooling background or work experience to receive a chance to enter the workplace with industry related skills. After completion, you will receive a certificate of completion issued by Skills Academy.

Assessment Structure

There are no examinations for this course.You will be assessed on assignments, Portfolio of Evidence (PoE’s) and subject tests. You need 50% for each assessment to pass. If you failed to receive more than 50% for a course, you may apply to redo your assignment.

Subject Outcomes

There are three subjects you need to complete to pass this course. Here’s what you can expect and learn from each: 

Subject Description
Introduction to Business English Learn about the different ways to communicate, as well as reading, writing and speaking skills. This subject also teaches you about what to expect from a workplace environment.
Report Writing Learn how to use writing skills for specific purposes, audiences and contexts, how to access, process, re-organise, and synthesise information in order to present it. Also learn how to draft and edit texts.
Introduction to Risk Management Get an introduction to risk management and learn how to understand the terms used in this industry. You will become well versed with operational risk factors and integrated risk management frameworks, as well as risk communication.

Don’t just stop here, continue learning. Once you’ve complete your course, complete the  Security Risk Management: Certificate Course and Security Risk Management: Comprehensive Course.

What is not included in the fees?

We do not include writing materials or envelopes for you to send your assignments to us.

However, you can upload your assignments here through our Learner Portal, and cut out the price of envelopes out as well!
