Entrance Requirements
Anyone can enroll for this certificate course. All you need is to be able to read and write in English, as well as have an understanding of the language.
Accreditation
This course is a Provider Programme, which means that the course outline, curriculum and study material was developed by Skills Academy. These courses aim to equip you with the skills needed for the workplace, regardless of whether or not you have matric.
Assessment Structure
There are no exams for this course, only assessments. These consist of a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) which is a combination of more than two assignments and a subject test. The pass mark for these assessments is 50%.
For assessments which require students to do Practicals, students may have to do the practicals and take pictures or screenshots of their work if they are doing them on their PCs and submit for marking.

You will also learn the basics of Windows 7, how to use word processing programmes, as well as Microsoft Excel. This is essential as most of your work as a personal assistant involves using a computer and various software programmes. |
Excellence in Service: Basic | Customer service skills are a very important skill to have when you are working with clients and customers on a daily basis. This subject will teach you how to communicate with customers, whether it's face-to-face or over the phone, as well as help you deal with angry or dissatisfied customers. |
Business Etiquette | Want to know how to conduct yourself in a professional manner? This subject will help you do just that. Learn all about interview, electronic and multicultural etiquette, as well as how to conduct yourself during meetings. This is necessary as you are an extension of your supervisor and you need to act and behave accordingly. |
Organisational Skills | Organisational skills teaches you how to manage different aspects of your job, such as time management, incoming and outgoing information, as well as team time management, which will ensure that all work meets the deadline. These are essential as you need to manage your own schedule as well as your supervisor or manager’s diary. |
