What you need to know
Entrance Requirements
There are no requirements to enrol for this course. Skills Academy strives to give those who never finished or went to high school a chance to further their studies. Therefore, all you need to enrol for this course is a basic understanding of the English language. That will help you understand your coursework in order to pass.
Accreditation
This is a non-accredited course that holds a lot of value. This course is designed to give those who never finished school and experience a fair shot at entering the job market. You will gain industry related skills. After completing this course, Skills Academy will issue a certificate of completion.
Assessment Structure
There are no exams scheduled for this course. You will be assessed on assignments, PoE’s (Portfolio of Evidence) and subject tests. A mark of 50% is required for each assessment is required to pass the subject. Students who fail to get more than 50% are can apply to redo their assignment. They won’t be charged extra for this.

Safety Health and Environment Awareness | This subject gives you an introduction to what health and safety in the workplace entails. Also learn about the negative impacts of workplace activities on the environment and how to reduce them. |
Safety Health and Environment Incident Investigation | Learn how to identify and explain the legal and organisational-specific requirements regulating the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents. Also, how to complete the required reports in writing. Learn how to identify and explain the legal and organisational-specific requirements regulating the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents. Also, how to complete the required reports in writing. |
Safety Health and Environment Safety and Audit | This subject teaches you how to assess an organisation’s health and safety policies, procedures and systems. Learn how to make sure that a company is following the proper regulations to ensure the safety of workers. |
Safety Health and Environment Representative | As an OHS representative, it’s your job to investigate and identify potential health and safety hazards. That includes hazards to the workplace and environment. Learn how to conduct inspections and come up with possible solutions. |
First Aid Concepts | Learn about the medical-legal implications, principles and procedures of First Aid. You will get a basic understanding of what to do when an accident occurs in the workplace. This subject also teaches you about elementary human anatomical structures. |
