Entrance Requirements
To enrol into this course you will need to have successfully completed the ICB National Diploma: Technical Financial Accounting course or be a qualified Certified Technical Financial Accountant.
You will also need to be able to read and write in English as the subjects will be taught in English.
Accreditation
This is an accredited ICB course which is accredited by The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
Assessment Structure
All your assessments and tests will be compiled in a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). Your PoE will be built up of a Summative Assessment which will be 30% of your mark and the other 70% will be made up from formative/interim assessment of activities and tests.

Subject Outcomes
To do these subjects you have to successfully complete the National Certificate: Bookkeeping (Junior Bookkeeper) and Higher Certificate: Office Administration (Certified Senior Office Administrator) course. Once completed you can then start on the subjects below.

Introduction to Business English | As the name suggests, this module introduces you to business english. This is where you learn communication skills in a business and learn professionalism. It is very important to understand how to communicate in your business to improve profitability. |
Bookkeeping to Trial Balance (BKTB) | This module is your first and most basic introduction to bookkeeping. You will learn about how to record income, receipts, payments and expenses in a business. You’ll also learn how to balance books and financial business transactions. |
Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns | Here is where you get introduced into how to disclose the profits and financial position of a business. You also learn how to do business tax returns and payroll tax. |
Business Literacy | This teaches the basic concepts of numeracy. Here you will learn about business numeracy tools such as doing fractions, percentages, proportions, equations, interests and graphs. |
Business Management 3 | This subject will be an introduction to strategic management. You will get an understanding of international trade and global business strategies. |
Financial Management and Control | In this subject you will learn about the role and function of a financial manager. You will receive an introduction to information systems as well as management systems. |
Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks | You will get an understanding of the framework of accounting and investment property. This subject will give you the skills to use financial instruments. |
Research Theory and Practice (by short dissertation, Topic: Business Management) | With this subject you will explore accounting research. You will be given skills that will enable you to formulate research objectives, analyse and interpret findings as well as draw conclusions and make recommendations. |
Study Upgrade
Once you have officially and successfully completed this course you will receive your ICB Business Management Certificate.
