Matriculants, your matric results have been released! 2019 Matric results for Limpopo are an impressive 73.2%. Now it’s time to meet the future!  The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga announced the overrall performance on the 07 Januray 2020.  Congratulations Class of 2019! You outdid yourselves. 

Where can I get my Matric Results?

You wrote your matric exams for 2019 and want to know how you performed? Not sure how to get your results? Don’t worry. There are multiple ways you can go about viewing your matric results. Below we have listed different ways in wich you can access your matric results.

Get results at school

You can get your matric result statement from your school or exam centre where you wrote your exams. Your results are available as of today, January 8, 2020.

 

SMS Notifications

You can now receive your matric results via sms. Registrations to receive your results via sms open on November 27, 2019. To receive yours, follow these simple instructions. 

 

 

To register, all you have to do is:

  1. SMS your ID number and examination numbers to 35658 or
  2. Dial *120*35658# to register via USSD

Each SMS costs R1.50 and USSD costs are R1.50 per minute. Free SMSes and minutes do not apply.

Newspapers

The tradition continues, but it comes with a few changes. Your matric exam number will appear in the newspaper, instead of your actual name. Make sure you remember yours. The Matric Results 2019 Limpopo are available in all major newspapers. Grab a few for you and your family to keep as memorabilia.

Matric Results 2019 Limpopo – NSC Matric Pass Rate of 2019

National Matric Pass Rate of the Last Five Years:

The following statistics demonstrates the national pass rate for matric within the last five years. Matric pass rate went from 70.7% in 2015 to 81.3% in 2019. This is a very impressive increase! See how matriculants have been doing since 2015:

2019: 81.3%

2018: 78.2%

2017: 75.1%

2016: 72.5%

2015: 70.7%

Matric Pass Rate for Limpopo for the Last Five Years

In 2018, Limpopo achieved a 70.6% pass rate. The province has seen a 3.2% improvement from the 67.4% they achieved in 2017. For 2019, the stakes didn’t go any lower for Limpopo. The province achieved a 73.2% pass rate. This is a 3.8% pass rate from 2018. Consistency and excellence seem to be what Limpopo is striving for. For example, take this school in the deep rural parts of Limpopo, Dendron Secondary School. Dendron Secondary school has consistelty achieved a 100% mark for the past 10 years, againts all odds. On the 7th of January 2020, it received a special mention from the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshega.  Limpopo’s Vhembe East region achieved a 81.5% pass.

What can I do if I’m not Happy With my Matric Results?

If you’ve failed matric or didn’t do as well as you expected, take some time out for yourself. Use this time to reflect on your journey and commend yourself on making it this far. Whenever you’re ready, consider these following options. Remember, failing matric doesn’t mean your story ends here. 

Get a Re-Check

Mistakes often occur when it comes to adding up the totals of an exam paper. Exam moderators are often in a rush to mark and process papers, and may overlook or miscalculate scores. If you think there’s a possibility that this might have happened to you, you may apply for an exam re-check. Here’s what you need to know about exam re-checks: 

  • You should apply for a recheck before or on the 22 January 2020. Applications closes on the 22 January 2020
  • At R27.00 per script, they are your cheapest option
  • You can register at your school or district office

Get a Remark

The Department of Education has numerous steps in place that ensures that the marking of exam scripts meet their high standards. However, not every operation comes without its flaws. If you feel like your marks aren’t a reflection of those late nights you’ve put in – ask for a remark. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Exam remark costs R112.00
  • You can register at your school, exam centre or local district office
  • Applications for a remark closes on the 22 January 2020

 

Supplementary Exams

Yes, you may have another go at matric. You have until January 31, 2020 to register for the supplementary examinations. These exams will take place during the May/June period. To register, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • You can only register for a subject you wrote in the November exams
  • You qualify for supplementary examinations if you need a maximum of two subjects to pass
  • If you were absent with a valid reason, you may register for the exams
  • You may register if you want to improve your achievement status or mark
  • If you missed one or more exams with a valid reason, you may write outstanding or all papers
  • You will need a written report submitted by your principal to the Head of the assessment body if you were absent for reasons other than the valid ones.
