This is a NQF level 3 certificate that will give you the necessary basics to be a competent bookkeeper. This module focuses on all the basic aspects of being a good bookkeeper so that once you have the qualification you can work as a professional bookkeeper. These modules include Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns, Computerised Bookkeeping and Business Literacy. This course can be completed in 18-20 months and you need a Grade 10 to start this course.
This is an NQF level 4 certificate that will allow you to complete many different modules that will teach you all the necessary skills. Several of these modules are the same you would do if you were studying the Junior Bookkeeper qualification. Such as Computerised Bookkeeping module as well as the Business Literacy module. However there are also a few more advanced modules such as Cost and Management Accounting modules. This course is normally completed in anything from +6 months. You only need a Grade 11 to start this qualification.
This is the first of Skills Academy’s ICB accounting diplomas. This course is more difficult than the previous accounting courses but is an NQF level 5 course. With this course you will learn the more advanced skills in the commerce field. However, you will still learn the same basics that you would from the ICB certificates. Only after you have completed the basics will you do the more advanced modules. These modules include Business Law and Accounting Control. This course is normally completed in +6 months. You also need to have completed matric to qualify this course.
This is Skills Academy’s most advanced ICB Accounting course. This course handles all the accounting modules that Skills Academy has. Teaching you the most advanced skills that will ensure that you have the best chance to succeed in the accounting field. This course has a qualification that is rated NQF level 6. In this course you will do the four most advanced subjects namely; Corporate Strategy, Management and Accounting Control Systems, Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks and Accounting Theory and Practice. This course due to its advanced nature can take quite long, normally +12 months. You need a Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification to study this course.

To enroll for a National Certificate in Public Sector Accounting, you only need:
- Grade 11, NQF 3 or equivalent.
- You must be at least 16 years of age.

The course takes 12 months to complete. With this qualification you can be a public accounts administrator. You will learn how to improve financial management within government departments.
Diploma: Public Sector Accounting
In order to gain entry for the diploma programme in public sector accounting you need to already have completed the National Certificate in Public Sector Accounting.
This course takes 12 months to finish. Some careers you can look forward to with this qualification include: a technical public accountant and an accounting technician in the public sector.
National Diploma: Financial Accounting
Entry requirements for this course includes a completed diploma in public sector accounting. If you complete your national diploma in financial accounting you will be able to apply for jobs such as:
- Public sector financial accountant
- Financial accountant
- Accounting officer (through SAIBA, if you meet their requirements)
In this course you will learn how to compile financial reports and statements, how to register with SAIBA as an Accounting Officer, work with auditors and chartered accountants.
