Registration Information
All exam registrations will be done online via the student portal.
Classroom students will receive access to digital portfolios as soon as the bookings have been processed on the student portal.
Distance learning and independent students will only get access to theirs once the ICB receives your proof of payment.
Please note that if you cancel a scheduled exam, you will not be refunded. If you can’t write on the day you’ve registered for, you may apply for a postponement. You can write the next exam once the postponement fee has been received.
Please note: Distance learning and independent students pay the ICB directly.
Registration
All registrations should be done online via the student portal. Bookings for April 2021 and onwards will only open at the end of January 2021. So, make sure you keep that date in mind.
The annual registration fee for 2021 is now R380. This is a once-off fee that should be paid at the start of your first year. Your assessment fees will cost R675 per exam. For a more detailed look, you can download the ICB 2021 Fees List.

Payment Methods
Your ICB reference number or South African ID number must be used as your payment reference. You can pay your fees by using one of the following methods:

Credit Cards
Credit card payments are welcome. You can make a credit card payment on the student portal.
EFT and Bank Payments
You can visit your nearest First National Bank branch to make a bank payment. Alternatively, you can use your banking app to make a payment.

It’s important to note that the ICB does not accept cash payments. If this is your only option, make a deposit at an FNB bank, then send us the proof of payment.
Important Updates
The chaos of 2020 has caused many learning institutions to change the way they do things. This includes us and the ICB. Some important ICB details you need to know are listed below. Use this with the ICB 2021 Exam Timetable and become fully prepared.
- Students will be able to write an online exam every second month as of April 2021
- Distance students have 6 opportunities to write an online exam and 2 chances to write a paper exam
- Venues for paper exams are still to be confirmed. Once it has been finalised, it will be made available.
- Paper-based exams will not be available for all subjects in 2021 due to reduced volumes.
