How to get your Matric Results 2017 via SMS

Are you wondering how to get your Matric results 2017 via SMS? Then this article is for you. You can register with the South African Broadcasting Association (SABC) to get your results via SMS.

To register with the SABC you should send your ID number, followed by your exam number to 35658. If your registration is successful, you will get an SMS to confirm it. An SMS will cost you R1, and free SMS’s do not apply.

You can also get your results online at the Department of Education, in the newspapers and at the school where you wrote your exams.

How to get Your Matric Results?

There are two main ways that you can get your matric results right on your phone! The ways that you can get your results is by SMS and by Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD).

How to get Your Results via SMS:

  1. Send an SMS to 35658.
  2. The SMS should include the ID number and your student number.
  3. This SMS will cost you R1,50.
  4. You will receive your results via SMS.

Results Through the USSD:

  1. Dial  *120*35658#
  2. Enter your ID number and your student number.
  3. This costs R0,50 per 20 seconds.
  4. You will get your results

Independent Examinations Board (IEB) Results

If you have already given your cell phone number to the IEB, then you should receive an SMS with your results.

If the IEB does not have your number, then you can register with them by sending an SMS to 35135 before 13 December 2017.

You have to send the SMS as follows: Results Examination Number Birth Date (ccyymmdd).

For example: “Results 173456489011 19910315”. You will get an SMS to confirm if your registration is successful. An SMS will cost you R3.

You could call 082 152 to get your results over the phone, directly from the Department of Education.

NSC Matric Pass Rate of 2017

If you are interested in the national and provincial pass rates of Matric for 2017 then look no further as we have all the data right here. The Matric pass rate for this year and how it compares over the last 9 years.

This shows that the upward moving trend of the increase in matric pass rates continues to get better, which is without a doubt a good sign.

IEB Matric Pass Rate

The IEB matric pass rate this year has increased from the already high 98.67% from 2016 to new heights of 98.76% in 2017. These results are from the 112 000 students who wrote the IEB exams nationwide. 88.50% of the IEB students will now be able to study for a degree programme in 2018.

On Friday (29 December 2017) the Umalusi council approved the results for the Matric Class of 2017. For the first time in many years, there were no leaked papers.

Umalusi says that the quality of student answers has improved, and that marks has increased overall.
